Phillip Yeich and Randy Poteat will lead a discussion and review based on Randy Alcorn's book about heaven. Join us as we look at some possibilities of what heaven may be like.


The Character of God
Archie Bost – Room 638
A. W. Tozer's book, The Knowledge of the Holy, is a classic of Christian testimony and devotion. It explores the attributes of God in words that fly straight to the heart and will strengthen and deepen one's spiritual life. We will discuss various aspects of God's character from His infinity to His love, while always pointing to His wonder and inscrutability.


Encouragement for Life
Jon Roberson - Room 642
In John 13:34-35, Christ teaches His disciples that by their love for one another, all people will see and understand that they are His disciples. Our class seeks to remind each other that we are not alone when we are facing difficult times and trials. God will never allow us to face a trial that we cannot bear or send us into one for which He has not already prepared us.

On God and Man: A Study of Selected Psalms
David Nelson – Amphitheater
Each week we will study a Psalm to discover what these Scriptures teach us about God and about ourselves, and how we are to live before our Lord.


The Book of Luke
Ricky Mill – Room 202
Study Luke's beautifully written and accurate account of the life of Jesus, Son of Man and Son of God. Thank you, God, for sending the Savior for all men - our risen and triumphant Lord.


The Book of Hebrews
Bill Hughes – Room 207
The book of Hebrews reveals to us the absolute supremacy of Jesus as the One whose atoning death, resurrection and ascension have opened a way for us into the heavenly sanctuary of God's presence. Suggested for ages 55+ but adults of all ages are welcome. Activities outside of class time are planned regularly for fun and fellowship.


HomeBuilders
David Henry – Room 208
Homebuilders consists of married couples ranging from those with adolescent children to those with empty nests. The discussion-oriented class format helps to foster community and individual application of biblical principles. For the summer quarter, we will study the book of 1 John.


The Book of 2 Corinthians
Kyle Brown - Room 213
The book of 2 Corinthians has an important message for all who wish to be involved in any kind of Christian ministry. It has a lot to teach us about how we should handle our ministries today. As we study this intensely personal letter, we will be become more committed to the truth of God's Word.


Joy Class - Special Ministries
Katie Honeycutt – Room 222
This class is designed for adults (18+) with special learning needs. No matter your age, it is important to study the Bible. We will have fun together as we sing, play games and grow closer to Jesus.


Missions on Our Mind
Jon Meader – Room 437
We will continue examining Ephesians and compare Scripture with Scripture to better understand and put into practice the full council of God. The format of this class encourages prayer and personal Bible study with the opportunity to fellowship around God's Word. In addition to this study, we will invite guest missionaries to speak to the class periodically.


Love & Respect
Jeff Blau/Lacy Summers - Room 443
If you want to experience marriage the way God intended, join us for the study of the book, Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires, The Respect He Desperately Needs, by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. You'll discover new ways to communicate that will strengthen your marriage. There is a time of fellowship (and treats) at the beginning and a time of prayer at the end.


Young Newly Married Adults
Brian & Jean Schmidt – Room 449
If you are a newly married couple interested in finding God's direction for your lives, this class provides Bible study, fellowship and connection with other couples. This quarter we will study excerpts from the Proverbs and consider what active spirituality consists of. In our daily lives our spiritual walk is intended to be active, not passive. God's words through Proverbs will map us into such topics as balance, diligence, taking responsibility and forgiveness.


1 and 2 Corinthians
Mike Baker – Room 453
During this study of Paul's letters to the church at Corinth, we will be challenged to develop holy character in the midst of an unholy culture.


Blueprint 2:42
Kevin Harvey - Room 457
Studying a variety of engaging topics throughout the year, this class seeks to follow the blueprint that the first Christians in Acts modeled for us in how to serve both each other and the community. "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:42). Suggested for married couples ages 25-35.


Women of the Bible, Their Lives and legacies - Women’s Bible Study
Carletta Hensley - Room 603
Study the Bible with a warm group of caring women from all ages and stages of life. This summer we will study the faithful and unfaithful women of the Bible. We will apply the lessons we learn from Scripture to our lives.


The Book of 1 Corinthians
Bob Austin - Room 607
We will discuss the problems in the Church at Corinth regarding morality, marriage, spiritual gifts, the resurrection, stewardship, servanthood and unity. Join us for a candid look at this great book written by the Apostle Paul.


The Pentateuch—The Book Moses
Maatt Fuller – Room 610
We will continue progressing through the Book of Moses using the schedule known as the temple sedarim which was used during the time of Jesus. During the summer quarter we will study Abraham and his family. We will discover that the Book of Moses is one book with one message and as Jesus said in Luke 24:27, it concerns Himself.


The Gospel of John
Gordon Goeking – Room 611
In John's Gospel we see Jesus - the King, the Creator, the Source of Light and Life - come to earth as one of us. We witness the wonder of Christ revealed as seen through the eyes of John, His close friend. Join us in this discussion-oriented class as we share and pray with one another in the journey to become more like Jesus.


A Parental Walk Through Genesis
Andy Weaver – Room 621
This course takes a detailed look at the book of Genesis through the eyes of a parent. We will investigate the stories and life lessons the Lord teaches through this wonderful book and apply them to our individual families and lives. We will grow and share together along the way!


Tough Questions and God’s Answers
Bill Hudson - Room 622
How do you know there is a God? How do you know the Bible is reliable? Is Genesis 1-11 fact or fiction? Did God create the world? Where was God on 9/11? We will find the answers to these questions and then learn how to share the answers with our friends.


Integrated Christian Living — The Remnant
Mark Boone/Bill Parsons – Room 623
Each week during the summer we will hear a first-hand testimonial that will describe how faith in Christ affects the everyday of life. The goal is to help each class participant to fully integrate belief in Christ into daily actions. We want to go far beyond quiet times and daily study of Scripture to the moment-by-moment decisions we all make.


Singles (40s+)
Burt Wichek - Room 637
We will study the prayers of men and women throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament as well as examine how Christ instructed us to pray.


International Bible Class
Paul Hoffman - Room 642
This class offers the opportunity for people from all around the world to encourage one another and study the Bible together. Over an eight-year cycle we will study the entire Bible. This summer we will discuss the book of Acts.


The Gospel of Matthew
Ricky Stevens – Room 645
This class will focus on Christ's kingdom and teaching ministry as written about in the Gospel of Matthew. We will learn how to seek Him first and obey His teachings. Above all, we will seek to glorify Him in all things.


What is a Baptist?
Shawn Madden – Room 659
We will examine what makes our Baptist beliefs and heritage distinctive from other denominations and discover what Baptists believe by reading and reviewing classic texts by Southern Baptist authors and the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). We will search out the biblical basis for our beliefs and discuss what our core beliefs mean for living out a dynamic faith in Christ and maintaining a healthy church. This class offers lively discussions to challenge one another in our Christian walk.

The Jesus I Never Knew: Christ in the Book of Psalms - College Age Generation
Chip Bugnar - Delta Lake Center
The Psalms have been carefully arranged so we learn about the only hope for a world lost in sin: Jesus Christ. We hope to see Him more clearly and by God's grace our hope in Him will be sustained through reading this precious book as we wait for His coming.


The Life of David
Leon Tucker – Amphitheater
Starting as a protector of sheep and ending as the defender of a nation, the story of David shows what God can do with those who desire Him. Joel McDaniel will lead us as we study the life of this shepherd boy, warrior and king.


Multi-National Bible Study
Niyi Ojutiku – Room 208
Learn how to share Christ's love in a multi-cultural setting. We will primarily be studying Jesus' evangelistic efforts as recorded in the book of John. Our goal is to become effective "life-style" communicators of the gospel message. We will also draw from the books, Jesus the Evangelist by Richard Phillips and I Hate Witnessing by Dick Innes.


Family Worship Class
Mark Stowers – Room 215
This family-integrated class will emphasize the importance of family worship and Bible study. Join us for a study of the Early Church History from Christ to Constantine. Families are encouraged to attend together, and children of all ages are welcome. We regularly have children from newborns to teens in class.


Singles (Late 20s to Mid 30s)
Greg Burda – Room 611
Join us as we put to use the newly-learned Bible study skills from our study of Living by the Book by Dr. Howard Hendricks. We'll be observing, interpreting and applying to our lives the book of Galatians written by Paul. The intention of this letter was to instruct the church that salvation is through faith, not works.

The examples of men and women within the Scriptures are meant to help us endure as we see the faithfulness of God in their lives. We'll draw hope as we see God preserve His promise through the life of Abraham.


Singles (Early to Late 30s)
Brian Frost – Room 631
By taking a bird's eye view of Genesis-Deuteronomy, this study will reveal major themes that are woven together throughout the Scriptures to reveal God's plan of redemption. Stir your mind and heart as you deepen your grasp of the first five books of the Bible.


Singles (Early to Mid 20s)

This summer we will study God's Word with a view to understanding our present culture in helping us to think through how we can lovingly share the unchanging good news of Jesus with younger generations.


The Book of James
Jeff & Debbie Danforth – Room 638
Join us as we study what many call the Proverbs of the New Testament, the book of James. Faith is the primary subject and practical applications will be emphasized along with class discussion, prayer and friendship. Suggested for married couples ages 25-35.


Sharing Your Faith with Friends and Family
Jeff & Sherri Callery – Room 645
You don't want to say something that would offend your father, yet you care deeply about his need for a Savior. You don't want your friend to think you're pushy, but you realize how vital this decision is for her. You're aware that an overwhelming majority of people come to Christ through their friendships with committed Christians, but you still struggle with how to share your faith with those close to you. In Sharing Your Faith with Friends and Family, Oxford scholar and evangelist Michael Green shows you how to approach and talk naturally with your friends about faith and God. Suggested for married couples with young children.


Couples Bible Study
Room 649
Join other couples for fellowship and encouragement as we study God's Word together and apply it to our lives. Suggested for couples in their 30s who have been married five years or less.
