Children's Ministries – Weekly Activities
Awana
Registration for the 2008-2009 year of Awana has now closed. Please contact Matt Morgan if you are willing to serve in an Awana classroom, as spots are still available for teacher’s children.
When: September-May on Wednesdays from 6:30-8 p.m.
Where: Children's building (Enter on the opposite side of the Glenwood Avenue entrance)
The children are divided by age group:
- Cubbies: Children who are three years old by October 15, 2008 through five-year-olds.
- Sparks: Kindergarten through second grade
- T&T: Third through fifth grade
The evening is broken into three parts:
- Handbook Time: Children get a chance to recite the verses they have been working on during the week.
- Council Time: Large-group teaching time when we have lessons from God's Word.
- Game Time: We learn new games and play our old favorites as well.
Awana is an acronym from 2 Timothy 2:15, "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed."
