Hope for the Holidays

Tuesday November 24, 6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center

“. . . they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will.” (2 Corinthians 8:5b)

Give all that you are and have to reach and help the desperate of the world.  This is exactly what the Macedonians did as recorded in 2 Corinthians 8:1-3.  They were single minded about what they were doing, selfless in there generosity to others and to God, gave sacrificially of what they had, beyond their means and of their own free will.  The Macedonians were bursting with joy to give.

We need that same passion so that we may join together as a congregation and give all that we are and have to reach and help people in our community and around the world.
Hope for the Holidays will combine our two seasonal outreaches, taking our efforts to a more personal level. As before, we will ask you to volunteer to help a family collect food needed to prepare for their Thanksgiving meal.  However, this year we are asking you to come alongside these families throughout the holiday season and minister to them in ways specific for your family.  You might serve the family in some household or handyman project, share a meal together, bring them to the Christmas musical and coffee house, purchase gifts or spend time in prayer. Allow the Lord to direct you.

Providence will provide training and support throughout this process.  When you register online, you will be asked to attend one of the three training sessions on November 1, 8 or 15.  After the event on November 24, we will have a follow-up team connect with you and support you as you reach out to the family. We look forward to the opportunity to build relationships around our community.
