Garden Ministry
July 8, 2010 - August 12, 2010
The Garden Ministry seeks to collect vegetables, fruits and herbs from Providence family gardeners and farmers and to distribute to those who need to supplement their weekly groceries. 1 Timothy 6:18 says, "Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.” Most gardeners produce more than their families can consume, so in these challenging economic times, this is an opportunity for you to share your abundance with those in need.

Every Thursday, July 8 through August 12, you may donate food from 5-6:30.p.m. in the fellowship hall. Pick-up will be from 6-7:30 p.m. We are also in need of 10 volunteers.

ESL (English as a Second Language) Ministry
August 26, 2010 - November 18, 2010
ESL classes are offered every Thursday, August 26-November 18, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. Volunteers are needed for teaching, childcare, conversation classes and student recruitment. No previous experience with a foreign language or teaching is necessary.

Adult Reading Club
August 3, 2010
The Adult Reading Club will meet on Tuesday, August 3 in the church library (Room 233) at 7 p.m. The books for this month are The Noticer and The Traveler's Gift by Andy Andrews and Spoken from the Heart by Laura Bush. Join us for an interesting discussion of one or all of the books.

Summer Book Club - Ice Cream for Books
June 6, 2010 - August 29, 2010
From now until August 29, kids ages 2-12 are invited to pick up a reading log at the desk outside of the library, located in room 233. Check out books from the library and read (or be read to) at least 30 minutes a day for five days each week. The child’s name will be placed on a scoop and added to the big ice cream cone on the bulletin board outside the library. Let’s see how big our ice cream cone will grow!

Book Recycling Day
August 22, 2010
Everyone is invited to participate in Book Recycling Day on August 22. Now through August 15, bring your like-new Christian books (including fiction, biographies, devotionals, and books for children) videos, DVDs & CDs to the recycling bins outside the church library located in room 233. On August 22, come to Prisms between 7:30 and 1 p.m. and select items to keep (while supplies last) from the donations. Remaining items will be donated to local ministries.

The Journey
August 25, 2010
On the fourth Wednesday of each month (except November and December), married and engaged couples meet in the amphitheater for The Journey from 6:45-8 p.m. Children may attend SonStation while their parents attend The Journey. Register for SonStation by the Monday before the meeting.

Men's Shenandoah Fishing Trip
July 25, 2010 - August 1, 2010
Join us as we travel to the Shenandoah Mountains for the men’s fishing trip. We have two trip dates available: July 25-28 or July 29-August 1. Men and boys (ages 10 and up) are welcome to join us. Cost is $190 per person and includes lodging and meals. You can secure your spot with a $75 deposit by July 9.

Women’s Friendship Dinners
August 12, 2010
Are you looking to connect with women at Providence or to meet a new friend? If so, join us for our popular "Women's Friendship Dinner” on Thursday evening, August 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. You will be matched up with other ladies who live in general proximity to you. Most homes will hostess 8 ladies and each person will be asked to bring a dish to share. Please consider inviting a friend or neighbor to join you! It’s a great opportunity to enjoy fellowship in a very warm environment. There is no cost, but pre-registration is required to help match you to a hostess home. After you register you will receive a confirmation email with the location and hostess of your dinner. Register online by August 2.

Tech Training
Throughout 2010, the Media Team will be holding training sessions for all of the areas that go into the technical side of leading worship. Training sessions are free and open to anyone who would like to attend. Class topics will include audio, cameras, lighting, video editing, graphics, maintenance and stage management.
