The History
Our journey began 27 years ago as 12 families gathered together to found Providence Baptist Church, which began meeting in a local school building. Since then, the Lord has blessed us both spiritually and in attendance. Our location has changed several times over the years, including a small building on Strickland Road (now a daycare) and a renovated grocery store and our current location, the old Crown Royale hotel off Glenwood Avenue. Though our buildings may change, we remain steadfastly committed to seeking the Lord wholeheartedly, proclaiming Christ to the community and world, and staying true to the principle-based ministry He called us to so long ago.
God has blessed Providence, allowing us to grow and fill our current facility. In the past, we explored options for purchasing land at another location. While those opportunities did not work out, the Lord opened several doors for us to purchase property adjacent to our current facility on Glenwood Avenue.
That is our past - God providing people and space and guiding us along
the way.
