Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands

by Paul David Tripp
Review by Jay Veverka

"God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things in the lives of others." In Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands, Paul David Tripp shows us how our sanctification is tied to our place in community with others. God actually has designed the church to be a tool by which He sanctifies His children. Too many in the church see the process of teaching, counseling, and caring as the role of the "paid professionals"—the pastors and leaders. Tripp reminds us that, as believers, we are called to teach, counsel, and care for one another in the context of the local church. This responsibility, Tripp says, is both grounded in the gospel and fueled by the gospel. This book gives tremendous insight into how believers can and should invest in the lives of others in the church. It will both challenge and encourage you to treasure God given friendships, spurring those within the church on to love and good deeds.
