Women's Retreat - Come and Meet With Me
“…[Jesus] said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest’”. (Mark 6:31)
We invite the ladies of Providence to join us for a weekend of refreshment in God’s Word as we retreat to Hollifield Leadership Center in Conover, NC. This beautiful setting provides the perfect backdrop for a weekend to come away with our Savior and rest in Him. Gloria Hegarty will be challenging us with truths from God’s Word and there will be plenty of time for rest and reflection, as well as getting to know other ladies and having fun together! You won’t want to miss this opportunity to grow closer to the Lord and to other women!

Speaker – Gloria Hegarty
Married for 22 short years to her "beloved" Barry, Gloria is also proud mom to her 15 year old son, Jonathan. Originally from California, Gloria loves all things "southern" and has called Raleigh home since 1998. As a family, they have loved attending Providence since 2007.
"Handling accurately the word of God" continues to be her deepest desire and studying God's word, the delight of her heart. Gloria's passion is for women to fall head over heels in love with Jesus, the only Truth that will ever set them free. In keeping with that, she leads and teaches Bible study with the primary goal of helping women discover truth for themselves and then live their lives in light of it.
Worship Leader – Kristie Sylvester
Kristie grew up in Raleigh, NC and began her Christian walk at Providence Baptist Church. She received her BA in Communications from Charleston Southern University in 2008. During her time there, she was a member of Charleston Southern's traveling Christian Vocal Ensemble for 2 years. After she graduated, she served as a worship leader at First Baptist Church of Johns Island in South Carolina for 2 years. In 2010 she moved back to Raleigh to pursue graduate school at Southeastern Seminary. She currently attends her home church, Providence, where she is actively involved in the worship and singles ministries. Kristie is a full-time nanny and works part-time as a vocal instructor. She is passionate about leading God's people into His presence in worship through music, inviting them to "taste and see" the Lord's goodness. In her spare time, she enjoys writing new songs, running, baking, and being in the company of family and friends.
Worship Leader – Nancy Tissiere
Nancy plays keyboards at Providence where she and her husband, George, have been on staff for 12 years. She teaches piano, enjoys reading, and taking care of her two grandchildren.
