Providence Kids Staff
Laurie Gravley
Early Childhood Director
Laurie has been an Early Childhood Director for eight years. Among many other things, she oversees Baby Dedication and the class that precedes it. She and her husband, Scott, have three adult children, Courtney, Kristin and Tyler.
How did you know you were called to Children’s Ministry? I began teaching second and third graders when I was 15 years old and enjoyed it very much. I found that it was a “niche” that I fit in, enjoyed, and was blessed through. Except for a few years here and there, I’ve been working with children ever since.
What is your favorite CM activity or event? I love Providence Kids on Sunday morning because when I’m walking down the halls I get to see that Bible stories are being taught, songs are being sung, and children are being loved.
What do you remember about the Children’s Ministry of the church where grew up? I remember having fun at Vacation Bible School, and being the only girl in my class until 4th grade. I remember singing “Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam”, learning “Jesus Loves Me” in Spanish, and learning about missionaries in GAs.
