Aaron and Hur
Exodus 17 records a poignant example of God's response to Moses' prayer. As the Israelites, led by Joshua, battled the Amalekites, Moses stood on top of a hill with the staff of God in his hands. The Israelites were winning as long as Moses held his hands up, but when he grew weary and lowered his hands, the Amalekites gained strength and began to win. Aaron and Hur stepped in and supported Moses, one on one side and one on the other, so that Moses' hands remained steady until the Israelites were victorious. This passage illustrates the power of intercessory prayer.
As Aaron and Hur supported Moses, we have the opportunity to support Pastor Horner and those leading the worship services by asking God to accomplish His purposes through the Sunday morning worship services, as well as LIFE Bible studies.
