Special Ministries

For more information on the Special Ministries listed below, contact Karen Reimer (919-326-3000, ext. 247).

Legacy of Love

This ministry is an opportunity for the women of Providence to use their God-given gifts and talents to encourage other women of the church. The opportunities are endless for learning, fellowship, spiritual encouragement and developing new relationships. Check back soon for upcoming workshops offered through Legacy of Love. For more information, call Karen Noon (881-9097) or Chris Scheuer (847-6274).

Holidays Fit for the King

Each year we come together to start the holiday season with the right attitude and to remember the reason for the season. During a Saturday morning in November, workshops and seminars are offered to help ladies plan for the season. Topics in the past have included decorating and cooking, as well as seminars for those grieving or ways to share the Christmas story with children. Information about the 2009 Holidays Fit for the King will be available in the fall.

MOPS

MOPS stands for Mothers of PreSchoolers and meets the first and third Wednesdays, September-May from 7-8:30 p.m. MOPS groups are communities that strive to meet the needs of every mom who has children from birth through kindergarten. They celebrate the joys of motherhood and share about the challenges it brings through discussion, teaching, mentoring, practical instruction and creative activities. If you are interested in serving in leadership or finding out more, call Wendy Warlick (303-1835).

Woman-to-Woman Mentoring

This ministry offers an opportunity for women to experience the encouragement and growth of supportive one-on-one mentoring relationships. The scriptural mandate is Titus 2:3-5 where we are told to teach and guide the next generation of Christian women to live lives that glorify God and influence others for the kingdom. For more information, contact Cathy Sullivan (785-0833).

Grandmothers at Prayer

Christian grandmothers join together monthly, responding to God's call to stand in the gap (Ezekiel 22:30). Their petitions for their grandchildren build walls of righteousness and protection and establish beacons of faith in difficult situations. We have expanded our prayer efforts to include all the families in our church body, asking the Lord to give wisdom in rearing their children and to raise up godly leaders for this generation. If you are a grandmother, please plan to join with other "GAP" warriors the second Sunday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in room 401. Contact Jackie Brown (919-851-7141).

Whole Woman Day

Whole Woman Day is a bi-annual conference lasting two days. The event is for women of all ages and has a wide range of seminars, messages from the keynote speaker and special guest worship leader. Our next Whole Woman Day is April 17-18, 2009 and Mary Kassian will be the keynote speaker. Visit Mary Kassian's website here.
