Worship Teams (Vocal)

We are always interested in hearing who God has placed in His congregation at Providence. The vocal worship teams serve many different functions and offer a broad set of musical experiences and challenges for those with the appropriate skill set. Auditions for the vocal team are heard throughout the year and are by appointment. For everything you've ever wanted to know about being a part of a Providence vocal team, explore the Worship Team Audition page where details are given about expectations, requirements, and audition materials.

If you are uncertain about how you can be used vocally at Providence, you are welcome to come join us in choir while you get your bearings. The choir is a great place to serve by using your musical gifts and there are no audition requirements. For information about coming to choir, please contact Nan Honeycutt.

Rhythm Section (Bands):

Playing in the band requires a skill set specific to your instrument. The instruments involved in the rhythm section at Providence typically include the bass, drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, B-3, piano and auxiliary percussion. Occasionally, we add or duplicate instruments as needed. The rhythm section is central to how we do music at Providence. This ensemble intersects with every other ensemble we offer and as such, we give the players a great deal of attention related to planning, rehearsals, training, charts, recordings, and technical support. If you have had experience playing in a band and would like to use your gifts and experience to lead in worship, please visit the Rhythm Section Audition page for more information about requirements, expectations, and audition materials.

Orchestra

Many people grow up playing an instrument. Unfortunately, once they graduate from high school, many lose the opportunity to continue playing in an instrumental ensemble. At Providence we value the musical arts highly and see it not only as a vehicle to enhance the worship experience of the Church, but also see it as another way to  provide a place for musicians to serve, and to become better equipped to serve. Even if you haven't gotten your instrument out in a long time, we encourage you to tune up the strings, break out the rosin, buy some valve oil, get some reeds and come join us! For more details about the orchestra, rehearsal times, and audition information, we invite you to read our Orchestra Audition Page.
