Getting Involved

What kind of time commitment is involved?
We realize how valuable your time is and appreciate the fact that you are willing to volunteer. Out of respect for your time, we generally ask each volunteer to serve only one weekend a month, and we will work with you to determine a schedule. We also try to be very respectful of your time in the way we develop the tech team schedules. Every month you will receive an e-mail requesting information pertaining to your weekend schedules for the next two months. The tech team schedule is then developed based on each person's response to that e-mail. We then send out a two-month schedule to give you plenty of time to plan ahead.

How much experience do I need?
While experience is helpful, it is not required. Since one of the Media Ministry's goals is to provide opportunities for people to give back their time and talent to the Lord as an act of worship, we will assist and train anyone who wants to serve. Semi-annual workshops are offered, and personalized training is available if you so choose. You will never be asked to work an event you are not comfortable with, and the extent of training or experience you receive is entirely up to you.

Is there a minimum age limit to volunteer?
In order to be involved in the Media Ministry, you need to have completed your freshman year of high school. There is a lot of responsibility involved in volunteering with this ministry, and experience has taught us that sophomores in high school tend to be ready to serve. This is also a great age to find out if multi-media is something you wish to pursue as a career or a hobby. If you are interested in pursuing it as a career, our staff is qualified to train you for that objective.
