Our world today seems so dark. Every day more people are infected, more places are closed, and more columns of security are removed. But, Jesus, the Prince of Peace, came into our dark world and promised peace to those who are part of His Kingdom.
While on Earth, He taught how peace could be experienced in moments of anxiety, chaos, sickness, and busyness; even on judgment day, we can find peace before God. Jesus’ peace is real, and it is available to all!
April 19 – Anxiety
Matthew 6:25-34
In a world that is shaking in fear, it’s natural to worry about our future, our security, and even our basic needs. Jesus reinforces His command to us not to be anxious, and this truth should not only inspire trust and peace but spur us to share it with our shaking world.
April 26 – Chaos
Mark 4:35-41
In a world that is shaking in fear, it’s natural to panic. Mark showcases Jesus’ sovereignty, His perfect peace, His authority over the storms of our world, His examination of our faith, and His purposes to lead us to fear Him. All of these truths should not only inspire trust and peace but spur us to share them with our shaking world.
May 3 – Sickness
Mark 4:35-41
In a world that is shaking in fear, it’s natural to face sickness and death. Luke shows us that Jesus knows our greatest needs, He has authority over life, death, sickness, and sadness, and He can instill peace in the hearts of all who look to Him. All of these truths should not only inspire trust and peace but spur us to share them with our shaking world.
May 10 – Busyness
Luke 10:38-42
In a world that is shaking in fear, it’s natural to be consumed with busyness coated in anxiety. Luke tells of two sisters, Mary and Martha, and compares their behaviors when encountering Jesus. Martha, fueled by anxiety, is engulfed in busyness, while Mary finds peace at Christ’s feet. Jesus invites us to retreat, as Mary did, from our overwhelming list of tasks to spend time and find peace with Him. These truths should not only inspire trust and peace but spur us to share them with our shaking world.
May 17 – Judgment
Matthew 25:31-46
In a world that is shaking in fear, it’s natural to consider our anticipated and sobering Judgement Day, the day we stand before a holy God. Matthew helps us to examine the day of the Lord, the doctrine of justification by faith, and, through that justification, the peace we can feel in waiting for that day. These truths should not only inspire trust and peace but spur us to share them with our shaking world.
