“Those children will always hold a special place in my heart.” – Cindy McClure

At the turn of the New Year, close to 50 of our Providence family embarked on a trip to Spain. There, they ministered to the children of Central Asian missionaries attending a conference. By providing childcare, entertainment, and biblical enrichment for these children, their parents were able to fully seek training, respite, and encouragement in the company of other fellow missionaries. They were able to return to their callings and fields with a new sense of refreshment, and we pray the Lord will ultimately use this to bring more people to Himself.

Spain Mission Team

Several Providence staff led and participated in the trip, including Cindy McClure, Providence’s Children’s Ministry Assistant. She felt especially connected to the purpose of this trip because of her role on staff:

“We didn’t know what to expect, but the children were exactly like the children at Providence. We had the best week teaching, playing, doing crafts, and singing with them, and they taught us so much too! We learned to count and sing in many different languages. Those children will always hold a special place in my heart.

By providing childcare during the conference, we enabled the field workers to have a time of fellowship, training, and rest. I pray that because of this week, the field workers will be able to stay in the field longer, for by doing so, they will have better language skills, be more integrated into the culture, and be more effective in spreading the gospel.

I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of this trip!”

Spain Mission Trip

Providence’s trip to Spain not only provided a practical solution to the needs of the Central Asian field workers coming in search of restoration and edification, but it provided fertile ground for the Lord to work in the hearts of those serving on the trip; He was able to sharpen them, encourage them, and open their eyes to the calling of the nations.

The truth of the gospel demands a response from our lives. Out of obedience, we are called to be ambassadors during our time here on earth (2 Corinthians 5:20-21).

Where/how is the Lord leading you to respond? Is it going? Giving? Praying?
