The Kingdom And The Arts

Each of us interacts with the arts innumerable times each day. We listen to music as we walk to class. We read books and blogs. We remember playing the recorder for a few weeks in elementary school. We have grown all too familiar with the aroma of spray paint in the Free Expression Tunnel. We see ads along the sidebar of our Facebook feed, each one designed to capture our attention, and then (hopefully, for the advertiser) compels us to spend some money based on that interaction with an artistically designed pitch for toothpaste, or a new pair of shoes, or a great deal on an oil change. What does it mean to think Christianly about the arts?
