What To Expect

Camp Dates & Location
July 17th – 21st 2023 Providence students will head to Camp Bob Cooper in Summerton, SC. Learn more details about Bob Cooper here.
 
Medical
All medication (both prescription and OTC) is to be given to the Student Ministry Medical Team at check-in on Monday. The medical team will distribute ALL medicine during the week of camp. Students are responsible to see the medical team when it is time to take their medicine.
 
Meals
Meals are included in the registration cost. Meals are provided by the camp cafeteria served by Bob Cooper Camp Staff following all health guidelines. Please notify us of dietary restrictions ahead of time so that the Bob Cooper Camp Staff can prepare accordingly.
 
Transportation
We will take fifty-six passenger buses to Camp Bob Cooper in Summerton, South Carolina. Each bus will be pre-cleaned and have a bathroom on board. Travel departure and arrival times will be communicated closer to camp.
 
Lodging
Students will be grouped by gender and grade in bunk-style cabins. Some grades may be combined to maximize sleeping arrangements. Each cabin has separate showers and restrooms. Any questions or concerns may be directed to the Student Ministry Team.

Counselors/Volunteers
Each counselor and volunteer is interviewed and vetted for serving at summer camp by Jarrick, Kevin, and the student ministry team. Each counselor will be trained, equipped, and excited to serve your student throughout the week. We will plan for the counselors to have an in-person or virtual meeting with students prior to camp.
 
Electronics
No electronic devices will be allowed at camp, this includes: cell phones, ipads/ipods, hand-held video games, Laptops, etc. If these items are found at camp, they will be confiscated and returned upon arrival at Providence on Friday, July 21. Campers are not allowed to make phone calls other than to their parents, and will need to see the Camp Director, Kevin Lambeth, to do so.
