Event Series Re|Engage Marriage Class

Re | Engage Marriage Class

Providence Church 6339 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh

Recent statistics estimate 41% of first time marriages end in divorce. That is a staggering figure. If it is true, then almost half of all first time marriages will end in broken relationships. With numbers like that, it’s easy to get discouraged. And with the challenges that marriage can bring, we can fall further into the belief that it’s just not worth it, or that it can never change. But marriage is a good gift from a good God. And the power of the Gospel is proof that restoration of relationship is possible. At Providence, we believe marriage is a good gift from God that is worth a healthy investment. This is why we would love to invite you to participate in one of our Re|Engage Study Groups this fall. Re|engage is a Gospel-centered marriage curriculum that is produced by Watermark Church in Dallas, Texas, and used in hundreds of churches around the country. The principles and applications are designed to equip couples with resources to live out a God-honoring marriage whether they already have a great relationship with their spouse or are currently struggling in their marriage relationship. Re|engage is for marriages of any length, and any health. If […]

Providence Pathway – Go

The Gathering @ Providence Church 6339 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh

At Providence, going means sharing the gospel with those around us, whether that is through reaching the community in local outreach or taking a short-term mission trip around the world. In this session of the Providence Pathway we invite you to learn how to take the gospel to neighbors, the city, and the nations. What is the Providence Pathway? We accomplish our mission of glorifying God by introducing all peoples to Jesus through a focused discipleship pathway. This Pathway contains four steps (connect, grow, serve, and go) and will help you grow spiritually while serving God on His mission. Each step of the pathway is offered in order on consecutive Sunday mornings at 11 AM in The Gathering; however, you may start or join the Pathway on any Sunday. The connect step of the Pathway is the only required step to become a member of Providence. We believe experiencing each step of the pathway will play a vital role in your spiritual growth while helping you live for Christ.

Event Series Disciple Making Electives

Disciple Making Elective — Faith Foundations

The Community Room @ Providence Church 6339 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh

A six-week study through the basic beliefs of Christianity. Geared towards new believers. Taught by Allen Boone and Becca Simmons. REGISTER HOW DO PEOPLE GROW? The Bible's answer to that question is: believing truth. In other words, believing the Bible. Jesus prayed in John 17:17 that we'd become more holy through the Bible. Paul explains that we grow by "speaking the truth in love" in Ephesians 4:15. Mark 4 even reveals that God's word ought to produce a spiritual growth in us that leads to spiritual "fruit". In other words, believing God's word causes us to live lives that look more and more like Jesus. James speaks to this in James 2:14-26 when he shows us that believing truth must be reflected in the way we live our lives. WHAT DOES GROWTH LOOK LIKE? So, how do people grow? They grow by believing truth. The next logical question is-- what does growth look like? Jesus helps us answer this question in Matthew 22:36-40 when he condenses all of the commands of the Old Testament into two categories: Love God and Love Others. So, biblical growth means increasing in a love for God and others above all else. And the ultimate fulfillment of […]
