CityServe: Fall 2021

Saturday, October 23

In the book of Jeremiah, God tells us that our welfare is tied to the welfare of our city. Through CityServe, we can each use our gifts and abilities to be a light in our community. Projects are listed below with more information on how you can intentionally serve our city.

Mercy Ministries

CLI Prison Alliance

Come see how God is expanding His reach in the prisons. CLI Prison Alliance is in need of 20 Bible and Letter Ministers (pen pals) to disciple inmates. All correspondence is done through letters and is done in the comfort of your own home. All letters are received and mailed back through CLI’s main office. This ministry allows you to reach inmates in 1,000 different prisons. Many are coming to faith through this ministry and are being discipled! CLI Prison Alliance will provide onsite training to become a Bible and Letter Minister, then you will head to the warehouse area to pack books afterwards. An Online Volunteer Application with references is due prior to the event.

Feed The Hunger Packathon [FULL]

Feed the Hunger is a Christian ministry that gets nutritious food to children desperate for food.  We will be packing 45,000 bags of food to be distributed to hungry children locally and around the world. We believe that the cause of feeding hungry children and those in need unites us all.

    • Friday, October 22 (6-8 PM)
    • Saturday, October 23 (8:30-10:30 AM)
    • Saturday, October 23 (11:30 AM-1:30 PM)
  • Life Groups need to register individually.

Gateway Women's Care

Offer compassionate care and support by collecting and assembling baby bags for expectant mothers. Gain a better understanding of how the ministry serves women and saves babies via a short informational presentation. We will do some campus beautification as well. Gateway does not have yard tools, you must bring your own supplies. *Due to privacy concerns, we will not be interacting with the moms and babies.

LoveLife Prayer Rally

Join us and others in our community by participating in the 40 Weeks for Life Campaign. This is a groundbreaking, coordinated international mobilization that, with God’s help, will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city — and beyond. This walk includes a time of worship, Scripture reading, and testimony. *Love Life participants do not interact with the moms or families. We will be there to pray for the moms, babies, clinic workers and families affected by abortion.
