The Old Testament is full of kings; men who were entrusted with national honor and authority in spite of their personal weakness and wandering. With few exceptions, the kings of Israel defiled their soul, devastated their families, and deconstructed their culture’s distinction. In spite of their rebellion, God kept pursuing in love. He called for repentance, promising hope and restoration to all who would return to Him, and then sovereignly moved through this royal line to establish an eternal kingdom ruled by Jesus, the King of Kings!
