In this age of perpetual conflict and despair the future often looks dark, but as followers of Jesus and citizens of His Kingdom the future is as bright as the gospel.
- The gospel is the good news about what already happened when King Jesus died for our sin and rose from the grave to forgive us, restore us, and give us eternal life.
- The gospel is the good news about what will happen when King Jesus returns to establish His visible Kingdom of peace and justice.
- The gospel is also the good news about how pieces of His Kingdom can be experienced and enjoyed right now because of His Spirit in our heart.
Jesus formed us, the church, as a people to live as an advance sign of His coming Kingdom. This summer we are going to study 1 Thessalonians, a letter that describes what the people of the kingdom look like when they rejoice in Jesus’ resurrection and wait for His return.
