What We Are Learning — Kids PM Programming

KidsConnect is finished for the summer and will resume September 8, 2024.

Do you want to know what your kids and students are learning at Providence? This resource will be updated each week for you to know what was taught the previous weekend and what will be taught the coming weekend at KidsConnect. We hope this will strengthen our partnership together and that this resource will help you in leading and continuing discipleship conversations with your child.

April’s Series – Night & Day: GOD HELPS ME OBEY

For you are a holy people belonging to the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 7:6a – CSB)

This April, we are excited to welcome a new theme, Stand Out. Our Simple Truth this month is, “I Am Set Apart.” We want kids to know that God has set us apart and that we’re different because of Him. Each and every one of us is special and valuable.

God Helps Me Be Listen – Acts 9 – Saul Learned About Jesus

It is our final week of Night and Day, and preschoolers will be learning about Saul in the New Testament. Saul was known for mistreating Christians and putting them in jail. One day, Saul encountered Jesus, listened to Him, and was changed forever. Part of obeying God is listening when He speaks. God speaks in unique ways, and we want to be ready to listen when He does.

One simple way to introduce listening to God into your weekly rhythms is by spending time in silence as you pray. If you pray before bed or before a meal, add 10 to 15 seconds of silence. Encourage your preschooler to listen for what God may say. They may not last 10 seconds, and that’s okay. Practice makes progress!

Join us for a KidsConnect Year-End Celebration! Let’s come together and rejoice in all the amazing things we’ve learned and experienced this year. It’ll be a night for kids and parents, filled with food, fun activities, and a time to reflect on spiritual growth. Bring your chairs or blankets, and let’s gather in the west grass parking lot at Providence for an evening of fellowship and gratitude.

I Can Stand Up – Acts 9 – Saul Learned About Jesus

It is our final week of Stand Out and kids will learn about Saul, a religious leader who persecuted Christians. Because of Jesus confronting Saul in a radical way, Saul’s life was transformed, and he began sharing the gospel of Jesus instead of persecuting Christians. Saul’s (later called Paul) story reminds us of the transformational change that happens in our lives when we surrender to Jesus. We may not experience such a radical encounter as Saul, but the transformation that takes place in our lives is just as special and valuable. Because of Jesus, we can stand up and tell others around us about who He is and why He came.

Who can you stand up and tell about Jesus? Encourage your kids to think of one person with whom they can share the gospel. Set an incredible example by sharing Jesus with that person in front of your kids. Seeing you stand up and share Jesus can help your kids grow in confidence to share Him too.
